More than 2,300 people out here in beautiful Wheeling, West Virginia this evening to hear @BernieSanders speak. “Somebody told me West Virginia was a conservative state. I guess they were wrong!”

This is the perfect framing for why ideas (like @chrisFnicholson's for RTD-subsidized rides for the needy) to create very easy-to-enroll social services are so great. Means testing programs (tho popular) are often underused, while universal programs mainly benefit the neediest.

Thank you @SoperMatthew, for saying what needed to be said and calling out this entirely classless behavior by some GOP members of the state legislature. Politics and policy can spark disagreements, but attacking a member's dress with sexist comments is completely unacceptable.
The difference between Colorado state legislators and the anonymous sexist and racist trolls who post here is that the legislators wear nametags and get paid by taxpayers. Excellent reporting by @CPRNews.
