There’s only one way to recover from the PGA Championship heartbreak, and that’s to get a winner this week.
My Preview and Picks for the Charles Schwab Challenge
Important Phil context here:
He was making roughly 60mil a year. A $110,000 per unit bet is the equivalent of someone who makes $100,000 per year betting $150 per game.
“We got Rickie Fowler going for his first win in 4 years here. Subscribe to 3 channels, spin around three times to the left, then once to the right, jump up and down 6 times, then say the magic word if you want to watch!”
LeBron James can make millions off of the backs of Chinese women in sweat shops but Phil Mickelson can’t entertain the idea of playing golf for LIV investments. Make it make sense.
Last night, my father passed away unexpectedly. I still can’t find the words to express how it feels or understand how it happened when he was so healthy. Never saw it coming.
I love you so much, Dad.

Confounding answer from Lexi and subsequent reaction from the US side. It was one of the pivotal moments of the entire day and somehow that's off limits?
Never judge a man by where he's standing, because you don't know how far he's come.
We have no idea what life has been like for AK over the past 12 years. Who are we to judge anyone’s else journey?
Honest review of attending a LIV event: Entertainment, amenities and visuals of the property all top notch. So much for both kids and adults to do. Kid zone with a playground and ball pit and VR video games. My son had a blast.
A lot was said of Cam Smith trading legacy for money. That was disproven. He’s a hero of his country. Beloved as ever (if not more so now). Came home to win in front of the fans, money wasn’t a motivator. Majors are all that matter for his legacy now. He’s the face of 🇦🇺 golf.
No one is shredding Lexi for the shot, it’s for the way she acted when she was asked a very legitimate question.
Also, part of growing the game includes treating the players the same way you’d treat the men in the same position.
If you want to grow the game, you can’t pick
So sad seeing golf media , yet again, shred Lexi. It’s easy writing about other people’s mistakes. It’s
Golf, bad shots happen- give the girl a break. She grows the game more than anyone on tour… And she’s a great player!!
Scottie has done a lot of impressive things over the past few years. But winning The PLAYERS for a 2nd consecutive year (first time in 50 years) while not 100%, a week after winning Bay Hill, is chief among them in my eyes.
Wow.
-Cantlay allegedly refuses to wear hat to protest not being paid for Ryder Cup.
-Cantlay withdraws from the Hero World Challenge. A bit odd considering it’s free money, free OWGR points, important to 🐅.
-Cantlay loses deal with Goldman Sachs.
Maybe it’s nothing. But maybe it
New putter for Brooks Koepka in the bag this week. He’s switched to the Scotty Cameron Phantom, mallet style putter.
Brooks wiping off the blade prior to drilling a big putt at a major has become iconic, not sure I love the move prior to Augusta.
Brooks Koepka’s coach Claude Harmon: “People have tried to portray Brooks as a guy that wants to come back to the PGA Tour. I promise you I’ve never heard Brooks mention that once. He’s probably been in more meetings for LIV and his team than any of the other team captains and
Here’s an idea that probably doesn’t make much sense but I’ll throw out there anyway.
Top 10 finishers in LIV season from previous year get an exemption into the elevated events. The field expands to 70-80, whatever it is.
The players can accumulate OWGR points, but since they

: Scottie Scheffler joins those who say LIV golfers should NOT be welcomed back without consequences: “…I have no bad blood toward the guys that left. But a path toward coming back, it wouldn’t be a very popular decision, I think, if they just came back like nothing
Instead of agreeing to be the feeder system for the PGA TOUR, why wouldn’t the DPWT allow the LIV guys in? They get DJ, Cam, Niemann, Bryson, etc playing in their events to maintain OWGR points. Also let’s them keep their Ryder Cup guys. Why does the DPWT owe PGA anything?
Boom! Viktor Hovland gets it done at the Memorial✅
The insane heater continues. Just 2 weeks after winning 40k at the PGA Championship, another 30k is on the way 💰
4 outright winners and 2 FRL’s in the past 8 weeks.

All the people saying this is a 5 have forfeited the right to complain about pace of play on the golf course. Having 30 handicappers mark 2” putts, what are we doing here?
As Phil points out, when the OWGR was established in 1986, it’s job was to rank the golfers in the world on all Tours to the best of their ability. It was never created to be a set of standards in which all future Tours must conform to. In the 2023 debate, many are working off of

Colt. It is not our job. It is the owgr’s job to rank ALL the players in the world. Maybe they can do THEIR job and figure it out like they do for multiple tours with hundreds of players not even close to as good. But that would hurt the PGA’s revenue from CBS so the leaders won’t
Best decision we’ve ever made leaving me out of this video. I would’ve completely changed the vibe. It’s truly perfection. 8 years they’ve been building toward this moment.
What a piece of content this is.
Brooks Koepka ✅ 🔨
That makes 4 pre-tournament outright winners in the past 5 majors (plus a FRL this week on Bryson).

A quick Cam story from Saturday, he smoked my thumb and phone with his drive on 7. Walked over shook my hand, signed his glove for me, wrote down my cell # in his yardage book and ordered me a new phone. Unreal moment.
There are 2 types of people in the world.
1. Normal people
2. People who think a player should get free relief after blasting the ball OB up against a fence surrounded by 47 trees because a piece of wire can kind of, maybe sorta be seen out on the corner of your eye if you
I’m thrilled Tiger got a special exemption for the U.S. Open (it’s ok if you aren’t.)
It doesn’t bother me that Gooch didn’t get an exemption into majors (it’s ok if it bothers you).
I’m very much looking forward to LIV Singapore (it’s ok if you aren’t.)
I’m very interested in

Brooks Koepka on the viral clip of him with the traffic cone yelling at Panthers goalie Aaron Ekblad:
"I did not bring the cone. He gave up a bad goal. It was a bad pass in the third. I'm a die-hard P's fan, and he gave up a bad goal."
832nd ranked player in the world, Paul Casey 🏴, has gotten deep into contention at the Singapore Open on the DP World Tour.
If he’s able to pull off a victory, it would be one of the biggest Cinderella stories in golf in recent memory.
Do you believe in miracles?
As I’ve said all along in regards to LIV Golf: The people making lame twitter jokes about them landing Robert Garrigus are missing the big picture point. Watch what happens when Bob Garrigus cashes a $4M check after beating scrubs on the back end of the Asian Tour.
Perhaps a brief moment of sentimentality but I’m feeling extremely grateful for all those who will read what I write or listen to what I have to say, regardless of what website, blog, podcast or YouTube video it takes them to.
I promise, it’s only the beginning.
The entire golf world is aware of this. At what point can Camillo do anything without the worst tragedy imaginable being constantly brought up?
If he brings it up after winning, or gets emotional, then that should absolutely be embraced.
Just don’t think it needs to be brought
Camillo Villegas has been through hell and back, losing his 22-month-old daughter to tumors a few years ago. He leads through 36 holes at the World Wide Technology in Mexico. There wouldn’t be a more popular winner this year. Hard not to root for him this weekend.
Please join me in manifesting a Sunday 62 for the man, the myth the legend, Benny An.
He grinded his way back on Tour and has played some excellent golf since he’s regained his card.
3 back, no final group pressure. Go out and play free, Benny. You deserve this one.
LIV Golf has a new tech partnership with
@Google
that will allow fans to watch any group or player, live, throughout a tournament round.
The "Any Shot, Any Time" feature is expected to roll out in full this summer:
The Gooch PGA Championship invite is about much more than him playing at Valhalla next week.
The PGA of America recognizing a player solely due to their performance on LIV is a very big deal.
Wyndham Clark following his opening 73 (+1) at The Masters:
"In LIV Golf they only play 54, so I like my chances. We've got a lot of golf left... someone shot 7-under. I could do that tomorrow."
In the first 3 weeks of the season, we’ve:
-finished t3 with Spieth losing to a 120-1 shot,
-finished t2, lost in a playoff to a 400-1 shot on a missed 4 footer.
-lost to an amateur with a 6-time winner who was -250 after tee shots on the 16th hole.
This is fun
Would you be in favor of:
-Top 6 in LIV standings get entries into 3 PGAT signature events
-Top 6 players from FedEx standings yet entry into 3 LIV National Opens (play as singles).
-if any player declines invitation to any single event the spot goes to the next player on the
Re/Rahm—I don’t know whether he’ll go to LIV or not. They’ve been trying to get him since the jump, initially gathered it was more of the same. But his silence, plus all the smoke, is hard to ignore.
One thing is clear: losing him would be a *disaster* for the PGA Tour.

I wasn’t high on Gooch’s chances this week and he wouldn’t be on my Ryder Cup team. But that’s neither here nor there.
The fact certain “media” members feel the need to make this tweet and single a player out for having a below average round is just weird and sad behavior.
Many are viewing Rahm to LIV as a clear indication that the PGAT/PIF deal is dead. I think it's the exact opposite.
If Rahm joins LIV, Yasir gains a great deal of leverage. Knowing more may follow, the PGAT is forced to adjust their demands a bit to make sure the deal goes

Yes. If a pro’s round is suspended by darkness, does their score count after they pick up from where they left off the day before?
According to The Independent, Tyrrell Hatton will be joining LIV Golf.
As I reported back in early December, Hatton has been in negotiations with LIV for months.
It appears the sides have finally agreed on terms.
Nothing like writing 17 articles, doing 4 podcasts, 3 radio shows and spending about 25 hours doing content for three days just to receive a text from someone at 10pm Wednesday night:
“Who do you like this week?”
It’s easy (and fair) to criticize when we think a course doesn’t live up to the expectations of a major championship. Therefore, we should do the opposite whenever we get the chance.
Royal Liverpool is absolutely fantastic. Both the course and setup.
The one thing the U.S. can't afford to do is let Rory get going. He's been fairly quiet so far this week, but if he starts galloping, they're going to be in some real trouble.
One favor the Rahm announcement is doing for golf fans:
You can quickly determine who seriously covers the sport and who is completely off their rocker by seeking out the “Jon Rahm leaving the PGA Tour for LIV doesn’t matter” takes.
Happy to share I'll be writing my betting previews for GolfWRX, as well as writing stories and news pieces. I'm anticipating doing much more in the golf writing space as well as multimedia. I have a lot of ideas for columns, podcasts and video content in the future, and I believe
We're happy to announce

The thing that is going to surprise most of you when you see Anthony Kim is his face. And the thing that LIV has oddly not shown yet in the lead up to his return...is his face.
