Can anyone recommend a good mRNA therapeutics conference that is coming up? Ideally one that is broadly attended by both industry and academics?.

Our paper on Stopless-ORF Circular RNAs (socRNAs) is now out in Cell. By high-res tracking and comparing translation by either single or multiple ribosomes, we find that ribosomes cooperate to overcome pausing to ensure fast and efficient translation.

Our new paper is out: "Mapping the complete influenza A virus infection cycle through single vRNP imaging". Combining single-molecule imaging approaches with in situ transcriptomics, we identify many non-canonical infection pathways. Movie: viral entry

Thanks for all the thoughts. I do agree that having the actual text there is better than referring to the previous paper, which is annoying for the reader. So perhaps copying the text and adding the citation makes most sense.

When writing a manuscript, is it acceptable to copy-paste a paragraph from the methods section from your own previous paper (e.g. describing your transfection/blotting/etc protocol)?.

In the second new paper from the lab, we use socRNAs to compare either single or multiple ribosomes on an mRNA and find that ribosomes help each other out during translation to overcome obstacles. Amazing work jointly led by @MadernMax and @_SoraY .

The genetic information stored in mRNA is decoded by ribosomes during mRNA translation. mRNAs are typically translated by multiple ribosomes simultaneously, but it is unclear if different ribosomes...

Some highlights: .- Different ribosomes move at distinct speeds; .- Initiation factor eIF4A promotes translation elongation; .- Ribosome frameshifting occurs broadly on 'normal' mRNA sequences;.- Ribosome targeting drugs differentially effect translation elongation.
