Due to flight delays and cancellations, I took the Amtrak train from DC to Georgia. The sweetest people run the train. And the morning views of my north Georgia mountains made me smile and warmed my heart.

Hunter Greene threw this 100.4 mph. Shohei Ohtani hit it out 117.7 mph. For the second straight postseason, Ohtani has the first big swing for the Dodgers. https://t.co/LwiplwCmUV

"Our salmon have returned home." Indigenous activists spent decades campaigning for dams to be removed on the Klamath River. Now they are celebrating as salmon are heading upstream to spawn. Some fish have made it all the way to creeks in Oregon.

Sandy Koufax famously didn’t pitch on Yom Kippur in 1965. But did he go to synagogue? That part is lore. I spoke to a man who swears he sat behind the Hall of Famer at services.
