BREAKING: Former President Trump says “no one will lay a finger on your firearms” if he wins the presidency, vowing to roll back Biden-era gun restrictions.
“Every single Biden attack on gun owners and manufacturers will be terminated on my very first week back in office,

It is with a feeling of deep, personal loss and sadness that we report the passing of Elmer Keith on February 14, in Boise, Idaho. He would have been eighty-five on March eighth.
Elmer had been almost totally paralyzed by a stroke some two years ago. With typical Keith
We run steel action matches almost weekly at our range, regularly drawing active and retired military and LEOs.
You’d be surprised (maybe) to see how often they’re outshot by regular joes who just like to shoot.
An armed populace is more important than most think.
The Dan Wesson 357 had the greatest sixgun innovation I’d seen, barrels that come in 2, 4 and 6 inch lengths. Each shroud has a front sight of the correct height for its length. It takes very few minutes to switch from a 6 inch barrel to a 4 or 2 inch.

Never saw much use in the 308, either as a military or a sporting cartridge. It’s just a 300 Savage with a longer neck, only suitable for bullets up to 200 gr. Too slow with 150 to 180 gr bullets for long range, inferior in every way to the 30-06.

Bill Ruger’s Super Black Hawk is still in short supply, at least in this country. They sell as soon as they are unpacked.
I worked with Bill Ruger on the design of this gun and consider it the finest and strongest single-action ever turned out.

As I see it, the Auto Mag is a hunting and long-range target gun. It is the first and only auto pistol comparable to the 44 Magnum sixgun in actual killing power; certainly a better killer under 100 yards with a heavy bullet than the 30-30 rifle.

A small number Winchester revolvers were never commercially available and had to remain as rare prototypes.
For a while, Winchester and S&W had a verbal agreement. Winchester agreed to not manufacture revolvers, and S&W agreed to not manufacture rifles.

Anyone who’s been in a sporting goods store between ‘94 and ‘04 knows full well ARs were still plentiful on the shelves.
If I were forced to use just one rifle and cartridge for the balance of my life, it’d be the 35 Whelen. It is just as accurate as the 30-06, with same relative barrel weight, and a great deal better killer.

One of the benefits we saw raising horses and cattle in Salmon was the abundance of collagen harvested from hooves. So much in fact that my glue company, Elmer’s Glue, has furnished the stuff for schools in every state.

Never bluff with a gun. If you are a trained gun fighter, then leave your gun alone until such time as you may need it. Leave it in the holster until you know you have to use it, and then shoot to kill or disable your adversary.

Rare 1905 colt with a black leather and deer hide holster/shoulder stock.
Less than 100 made, mostly for South American trade.
The one I had was serial number 883.
The rounded hammer notes the earlier versions of this model.

The time may soon come when this country will desperately need every fighting man it can muster and an armed, and trained citizenry is the best possible insurance against invasion. Look at little Switzerland. Neither Napoleon nor Hitler wanted any of it.

The deputy was at the correct address, knocked and announced LOUDLY. Roger Fortson knew a police officer was knocking and he still came to the door with a gun in hand. If the deputy hesitated, he could have been killed.
Helped Bill Ruger design his 44 Mag Super Blackhawk and consider it the finest and strongest single action 44 Mag ever turned out.
It’s also the most comfortable of all 44 Mags to shoot with it’s big dragoon grip allowing it to turn upward upon recoil.

Simo Häyhä was a Finnish farmer who took part in hunting and target practice from a young age. In 1939, the Soviet Union invaded Finland. It began the Winter War or the Russo-Finnish War, and a young Simo Häyhä
During the wars, when Colt couldn’t keep up with demand for 1911s, they licensed Singer Sewing Machine Co., and other companies, to help get more guns to our boys.

In 1880, Smith & Wesson put out a small game rifle on their Russian revolver frame with either a 16, 18, or 20 inch barrel.
It was made for an improved 32 caliber cartridge of 100 grain of lead and 17 grain of powder. Had a fine peep sight.
977 were made.

The FBI took a liking to the 357 for their special agents.
But 357s have no business in a snub.
Under 8 3/4” and you lose 38 fps for every inch you cut.
With such a heavy gun, nothing is gained from taking it below 4”
You can draw a 4” just as fast as a 3 1/2”

No matter what the law reads or what the courts say, every adult citizen is entitled to own a gun for his personal protection. No anti-gun law ever disarmed a criminal; only respectable people are rendered helpless. The mounting crime statistics prove it.

Everybody thinks they need a pistol or a fancy AR-15 to protect their homes.
The best strategy:
A $500 pump shotgun.
Why?
- safer around kids
- wayyy easier to use
- legal everywhere in US
Why pump?

We urged Colt for years to bring back the flat top on their Single Action.
They didn’t listen, but Bill Ruger did with his 357 Blackhawk.
With many improvements over the SAA, like improved action and springs, it’s great for anyone who can’t get an old Colt.

As soon as I saw photos of the case, I knew the 22 Jet would be trouble before it came out.
My friend Bob Ward and I cussed out the tapered edges that either extracts hard or ties up the gun with any load of 2400 over 10 gr with 40-45 gr jacketed bullets.
