New data about remote learning being a big fail. Uh, yeah, of course. Pre-pandemic research showed that even SHORT closures were bad, let alone a YEAR! Many of us tried DESPERATELY to reverse this impending disaster, but were largely ignored and often disparaged. 🧵🧵🧵
Experts predict that pandemic learning loss foreshadows a widening of the nation’s racial and economic achievement gap

What @mattyglesias still doesn't understand (or is simply ignoring) is that the liberal "thought leaders" who he claims were calling to open schools were also obsessed with Covid safety, so they had a whole bunch of conditions tied to reopening. They said "we need to open

It's so depressing how many Jews are sharing that (obviously AI) video of Hollywood celebrities in shirt with the middle finger, a Star of David and the word "Kanye." Can we just not be so thirsty for these Jewish celebs, most of whom wouldn't spit on us if we were on fire if

When I wrote an oped opposing this misguided bill, I knew I was screaming into the void. Bc there's nothing that @MoCoCouncilMD loves more than ignoring scientific evidence in order to appear more virtuous. It passed unanimously. Thoughtful reasoning didn't stand a chance.

You’ll notice that not a single women’s rights group has posted about the three female hostages being released. Moral bankruptcy.

I also submitted written testimony for this bill 2 days ago but it's still not posted. What gives? @MoCoCouncilMD @Andrew_Friedson

Tomorrow, the @MoCoCouncilMD will vote on whether to ban plastic bags. These bag bans are simply performative policies that do not actually help the environment. But they make lawmakers feel virtuous, so yeah, it'll pass. My thoughts about this bill. 👇 https://t.co/8ZLDVNIpCr

Other countries have done it, why can't we? The American people are waiting for Congress to do the right thing and appoint a bipartisan commission to investigate the US response to the most consequential event since World War II. If not now, when?

And here @LeslieBienen "The sole witness called by the Democrats, Dr. Georges Benjamin, said explicitly, as did @DrJBhattacharya, one of the three witnesses called by the Republicans, that U.S. citizens deserve a bipartisan commission." https://t.co/fYz7Mfty0e

And here "Since 1989, Congress has funded 170 commissions to investigate problems ranging from the substantial (9/11 in 2002, the financial crisis in 2009) to the less weighty (the motor fuel tax commission of 2005, state of the Olympics in 2020)." https://t.co/6hjjUJnCk8

And here with @LeslieBienen "We have previously pushed for an official congressional commission due to extensive mistakes, and the ensuing loss of public trust, made by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other health agencies." https://t.co/iBaawpzECn

Two recent scientific reviews cast serious doubts on the scientific basis for many COVID-19 pandemic policies.

But still hoping for that Covid commission as I pen with @LeslieBienen "In recent history, Congress has formed bipartisan commissions that, in the wake of crises, direct outside experts to analyze mistakes and figure out how to avoid them in future." https://t.co/NriJlMDEFB

The CDC thinks a monthlong review of COVID policies will be sufficient to redress their errors.

I'm proud to have been part of this effort exposing how government willfully ignored data on natural immunity leading to unnecessary loss of life, livelihoods, and education. My testimony from that day is here. 🧵 https://t.co/tDuBdFF3em
🚨FINAL REPORT🚨 The Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic’s final report is the most thorough review of the pandemic conducted to date. This report ensures COVID-19 accountability and serves as a roadmap for the U.S. to prepare for and respond to future pandemics.
