Drivers - Slow down in bad weather. The life you save may be your own.
Gardaí across the country are responding to a number of single-vehicle collisions this morning. Drivers are to be advised that following the heavy rainfall, road conditions are trickier than usual. Please exercise caution, reduce speed and anticipate surface water on the roads.

Great to see the new bollards being installed on the footpaths this morning so that pedestrians can have safe access to and from the train station. 🙏👏 Thank you to @GardaTraffic and @GalwayCoCo for reacting so quickly to drivers blocking footpaths. #SafeRoutesForAll

It's a goal of mine to help make this the most famous, well-known and UNDERSTOOD quote about cities in history. Please share it as much as you can.

'Stop ruining kids’ mornings. Instead of traffic jams in a sealed of shuttle, give them freedom, energy and joy. In Portland, @CoachBalto's “Bike Bus” lets children ride to school together—safe, fun, unforgettable. The proof isn’t stats, it’s their smiles.' — @LiorSteinberg

With space for 12,500 bikes, Utrecht Centraal Station is one of the best examples of the seamless way the Dutch have chained the bicycle and the train into a single form of mobility that connects people to all of their daily needs: housing, employment, education, and healthcare.

We need Light Rail to enable people from outside the Galway Metroplitan Area (GMA) to get to their final destinations within the GMA easily and efficiently. It would provide people within the GMA with affordable, efficient, sustainable public transit.
Galway’s greatest amenity. Right in its heart. Our one oasis of peace. And they want to build a motorway right through it. I cannot but think there are better ways to address the city’s woeful traffic than by robbing us of this.

The liveable, inclusive, prosperous city isn’t a final destination, but a neverending journey that turns upkeep into opportunities for improvement. In Delft’s Bagijnhof, scheduled sewage pipe replacement emptied the courtyard of parked cars and replaced them with an actual park.

Welcome to clean, prosperous, friendly Zwolle, Netherlands, where cyclists outnumber drivers, nobody needs to wear a helmet, there are no dubious campaigns against bus stop bypasses, and both young and old enjoy the freedom of safe, segregated cycling. This could be your city.
