About 70% of the UK's drinking water comes from upland catchments — so we need to make them more drought-resilient. Restoring peat bogs and clough woodlands can slow the release of water into reservoirs, playing an important part in stabilising supplies.
Scar House reservoir which supplies water to Bradford is looking very low. Average reservoir levels across Yorkshire stand at 42.2%, the lowest on record for this time of the year - the average is 74.8%

This is not a complicated matter. Beavers restore balance to ecosystems, bolster our defences against flooding, and strengthen resilience against drought and wildfires. To delay such action is not just shortsighted — it is profoundly irresponsible.

Few things are more patriotic than spending time in the British countryside. We're lucky to call one of the world's most beautiful countries our home. Respect to @RishiSunak for flying the flag for it. I hope you had a great day!.
Happy Yorkshire Day! Proud to call it home, and even prouder to represent its people. There’s nowhere quite like it.

300,000 broadleaf trees planted on the Howgill Fells in the @Yorkshire_Dales, reviving biodiverse woodlands that once climbed the cloughs and slopes. Let's see more of this across England's uplands, where woodland like this has been lost on many moorlands.

Really looking forward to reading @MFeriaTinta’s book. One of the green movement’s biggest challenges is getting more people to engage meaningfully with nature and climate law and policy - an essential part of creating change. Hoping this important book helps bridge that gap.
