#LongCovid needs to be centered in EVERY #COVID_19 conversation . It is the most likely adverse outcome. Noone would get in a car if every ride came with a 10-30%+ chance of becoming disabled. Immunity isn't lasting. Not natural or w. vaccines. Stop the madness. #Layerprotections
Every. Single. Day. We are deliberately & completely shattering lives - and all those who continue to **look away** are actively participating in this suffering. #LongCovid

@MoriartyLab The damage done by Covid-19 to the healthcare workforce should be a major focus of the professional associations/unions involved. Good data illuminates the price in personal health being paid by these people. Thanks for the focus

It is strongly expected multiple underlying mechanisms lead to long COVID (re:subtypes). Vagus nerve damage would go a long way towards explaining why so many different organ systems are impacted and why stress and minor illness cause flares.

Today, all parties came together to support Bill C-22 - the Canada Disability Benefit Act through a unanimous consent motion. We're on the cusp of doing what every single one of us came to Ottawa to do. To help people. To make their lives better.

Every #longhauler, especially those coping with #PEM in the first 6 mo- 1 year of illness, needs to hear this. It is so hard to be encouraged to just "push through" even when it makes you sick. Learn to do what you can and stop. A new definition of "health", but equally valid.

💬 “We speak to patients who are sometimes house- or bed-bound due to their symptoms, & live a very isolated life. They are too ill to participate in rehabilitation programmes & have nowhere to turn to for help.” Dr Sara Biere-Rafi on #longCOVID support👇 https://t.co/FdfENE7v6d

Don't allow your body to be grist for the economic mill. #CovidIsNotOver . Make personal choices that protect you and your family. Wear masks, avoid indoor gatherings, ventilate the spaces you spend the most time in. Stock up on free rapid tests while they are still available.
Your Death And/Or Disability Won’t Feel So Bad If You Think About How It Will Benefit The Economy.

Please watch. Then, restock on masks and resume making choices about your exposure risk in public like your health depends on it. It does. #Covid Infection=Damaged Immune System. Money can't buy back health or quality of life. #CovidIsNotOver #COVIDisAirborne

The betrayal is nationwide. We hear about new infections every day, but from acquaintances through word of mouth because to test, trace & report would be to reveal the lie. The pandemic isn't over. Even when people don't develop #LongCovid they take immune system damage. #maskup
I would love to believe that the decision to infect the country wasn’t made with the same lack of acknowledgment of science but I’m sorry after the last year of mass infection and constant illness, especially in children, I do not have much faith left in elected officials.

"Progress has been excruciatingly slow due to lack of attention and resources." @EricTopol @TheLancet Comparative funding data from @UKRI_News @NIHRresearch shows long-term under-funding of other post-infectious diseases. We need serious plans.
