JK Rowling is an extremely Dickensian author. Much like Dickens, she wrote very strong, archetypal (even a bit one-dimensional) characters that become reference points for actual people in real life, all against a rich, evocative setting. Cope to call her a bad writer imo.

New book! The books on naval warfare I have been reading thus far have been great, but all of them were written by Americans so I think it would be good to get a different perspective on the matter from this Frenchman. It's Cold War stuff though, so might not be super up to date.
