As I've said previously, British Athletics have got this so wrong. Should have had a better policy in place. NEED a better policy in place for the 2025 season and beyond.

British hammer champ Jake norris throws a fine 76.93m today at the NAL in Birmingham.. which compares with the 75.25m that was needed to make the Olympic final yesterday

Running gait injuries are so elaborate, lol. Feel this nerve? You're protecting it, by tightening your back muscles. And that explains your pelvic tilt, which limits your left hip mobility. That's why you are offloading to your right side. That's why your right knee hurts.

I tell anyone who says "I hate running/jogging" that they are going too fast Be able to have a full conversation. If that requires walking, then that's where you're at. When people recommend zone 2 training for general population, for most it should mean go on a walk

This article is actually laughable and beyond disrespectful to all athletes, not just elite athletes. Majority of the people in these positions couldn’t run for a bus. You’re broke as hell and that’s the sole reason. Millions & millions of loses year in, year out. It’s pathetic.

Olympic Creed: "The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not winning but taking part; the essential thing in life is not conquering but fighting well" UKA: đź–• So shortsighted.

@Ninercast I mean I feel like it’s the responsibility of each country to send a full robust team of qualifiers. To say we are only sending medal contenders will kill the future of the sport. (Talking track and field here of course).

@karagoucher @Ninercast The “if you can’t medal, you don’t deserve to go” is the attitude of the governing bodies that has destroyed World Cross -Country

And: The idea of an "Olympic Tourist" is bullshit & offensive Imagine being the 20th best person in your in the world...& being told you are just there for the experience In a low $ sport, people sacrifice a lot to take a shot at seeing how good they can be. Give them that shot

Not to mention the shortsightedness of the move. If you piss off all but your Olympic medalists... you just lost potential future revenue, a large part of your donor-class, coaches, and ambassadors for the sport. It's poor short-term leadership by bureaucrats who are clueless.

What research actually tells us: -Experience before you have reached the top helps. -Role models attract others to the event. -Artificially high standards by a governing body creates a sense of unfairness and hopelessness, which decreases motivation.

UK athletics has been repeating this same tune for decades now. If it were true, they’d be dominating by now… If it didn’t raise the standard 20 years ago…why would it now. It’s administrative nonsense to save $.

Looking forward to the Greens receiving the same level of media attention as Farage now …

And I get it, the $$ argument is made all the time. But a few points: 1. The Olympics are once every 4 years...If you can't plan for the small cost for the premier event every 4yrs, well... 2. The same orgs that say it's $, take like 20 administrators to the games...

👇👇👇👇 The whole thread
So as you see athletes from the UK, Switzerland, and a whole bunch of countries who made the Olympic standard or World Athletic ranking...but their country denied them. Remember, this is either to save $ or that their administrators are dumb. A higher standard isn't helping.
