2nd record for Georgia and 1st for us and the author of the photo, Alexander Rukhaia. A nonsense vagrant, Three-banded Plover, a pure African resident, foraging at the Chorokhi River Delta in Batumi, Georgia. How incredible is that?!

One of those days birds were just dropping in. Late this afternoon I found this Red-backed Shrike at Nasg, a place that had been checked numerous times today. Also 10 Crossbill briefly at Creachan. The RB Fly was showing well at the pitch and another RB Fly at the gnome garden

Another shot of yesterdays Black Scoter passed Hartlepool. This shot shows the thicker neck of a drake Black compared to drake Common Scoter. It's a feature I wasn't aware of until yesterday but worth knowing when trying to pick out a flying Black Scoter
