At one of our brewery tour stops, a Mom and Dad brought their 8-year-old daughter out. She raised her hand high to ask a question, "How can kids make a difference in government?" I brought her up to the front to introduce herself. You'll never guess what her name was.

People like @JamesCarville fail to understand this. Nobody gives a shit any more about labels like "moderate" or "socialist." It's about caving vs fighting; reverence of norms vs choosing something better. People tell pollsters they care about "bipartisanship." People also lie.

Underscores the issue that Dems have had communicating to voters: in defending institutions, we defend the status quo, and the status quo fucking sucks. It isn't be "we demand a repeal." It's, "good riddance - let's make something better, something bold, something new.".
