Staying in the field of education right now takes strength, and so does leaving. We need to continue to support our educators. They aren’t superheroes. They are humans who should be acknowledged for how hard this is and how amazing they’re doing.

If you regularly walk around the school, and regularly check in with teachers in their classrooms, and regularly check in with pupils in their classrooms, and regularly just have a presence around the school, there's no need for formal learning walks.

Mental health matters. Be kind to yourself and others.

One of the best mental shifts I’ve made as a teacher is to stop planning out Monday to Friday and instead plan out Tuesday to Monday. It has made my Sundays so much less stressful because I’m already prepped for that first day.

Just because curriculum is written for a whole group, teacher-led model doesn’t mean that’s how teachers have to use it. Teachers are architects of learning experiences. They deserve the flexibility & freedom to make curriculum work for their students using a range of models.
