I agree entirely. A Labour leader shouldnโt be accountable to the members, they should be accountable to the PLP who are in turn accountable to their constituents.
The solution is to restore the selection of party leaders to MPs alone

I backed this party under Miliband, Corbyn (that was fucking bad) and Starmer. Iโll back it under Burnham or Streeting. Because despite any misgivings I have, the party, its values, its 125 year history mean something to me. More than a particular rough time.

Just going to say Iโve been a Labour Party Member for 11 and a half years. I joined at age 14. Iโd have driven myself mad if I threatened to leave every time a decision was made I didnโt like.

In the end no one comes out of this clean. Labour has spent the last few days once again talking to itself and Burnham has in a roundabout way told the people of GM he doesnโt actually want to be Mayor anymore.
