We also report a cryo-EM structure of the VCP-VCPIP1 complex in which up to three VCPIP1 promoters bind VCP at multiple sites. The VCPIP1 proteolytic domains are positioned at the exit of the VCP central pore, poised to cleave ubiquitin following VCP-dependent substrate unfolding.

We are pleased to share our latest preprint on bioRxiv! Led by graduate student @VostalLauren, we use chemical proteomics to profile VCP-DUB interactions in living cells. We identify DUBs that bind the entry, exit, or both sites of VCP's central pore.

How can AAA mechanoenzymes be activated by small molecules? In our latest preprint, we report the discovery of a druggable allosteric site for a chemical activator of the AAA protein VCP, and uncover unexpected mimicry of allosteric regulation by this small molecule.

We are excited to share our latest preprint on bioRxiv: Graduate student @jaredrams led this collaborative effort in which we identify covalent allosteric inhibitors for helicases, enzymes notoriously difficult to selectively target.

Congratulations and best wishes to our former lab member and TPCB grad student @ZhenChentccz as he starts as Assistant Professor of Biology at Caltech! His lab will focus on biophysical principles and molecular mechanisms relevant to cilia biology.
