If school choice to you means telling parents how they can and can’t educate their own kids, it’s not school choice.

Utah switching ESA vendors mid year has got to be one of the biggest ESA implementation blunders I’ve seen. Not offering commentary on the vendors themselves (don’t want to get yelled at) but holy Batman, this is bad.

Great to see… With the caveat that we don’t want to over-regulate private choice. As charter leaders will tell you, too many freedoms have been stripped away over the years. How do we have a big tent but encourage education freedom that leads to great outcomes for kids?.

Way to go Texas! And grateful to every lawmaker, advocate, and parent who took on this fight. So many kids and families will have education freedom because of you!.

As is typical, unions pushed back against UT’s ESA program and won a lower court decision today calling the program “uncondtiutional.” This is a tired game and one that choice advocates win 9/10 times. Glad the effort to appeal is already underway. #utahfitsall @edchoice.

While we are disappointed in the court’s decision on the Utah Fits All program, our commitment to Utah families and their right to make choices about their children’s education remains unchanged. We will be reviewing the ruling with our attorneys and preparing to appeal.

If a state has an ESA program, who should decide what is “educational”? If none of these, comment with who should decide.

This passage of the Friedman Index seems pretty applicable now when thinking about SB 625 in AR. @edchoice

🚨NEW: @OppArkansas and @edchoice have released a letter outlining major concerns with Arkansas SB625. This bill would be a significant setback for education freedom by limiting enrollment periods, creating vague definitions of fraud, allowing the state bureaucracy to go after

Time to fight for freedom over regulation in school choice programs. ESA programs are great, but less so if parents have to cut through endless red tape in order to use them. @StandTogether

HUGE thank you to the women working for @united and @AmericanAir who helped get me home tonight. The customer service rep who answered my call and got a supt to rebook me. The gate agents who opened the door when I was 2 mins late for boarding. The flight attendants who offered.

Now hearing copy paper, glue, and index cards being denied. Seriously?! Guess we should make all district schools stop buying copy paper because it’s not educational or tied to a specific state standard.

Things that are no longer being allowed in Utah because of legislation restricting how “choice” dollars can be spent: microscopes, graphing paper, audiobooks, Legos, crayons.
