It's clear that many do not understand what @NIH-funded research does to improve health. It's time to revive a study published 10 years ago that provides incredible information about this. link in the comment Every single new drug approved by the FDA from 2010–2016 was built on

Antipsychotics are often prescribed to suppress hyperaggression. Do they really suppress aggression or just cause sedation? Antipsychotics target dopamine receptors. Our new study, published today @Nature, uncovered the role of dopamine in aggression. https://t.co/fEdAY502jI

1/3 It's important to note that most mApple-based biosensors exhibit blue light-illuminated photoactivation, and proper controls (e.g. mutant-sensor or biosensor-only controls) should be included in combined use with blue-light optogenetics or dual-color recording.

@NeuroCellPress I actually made a piece of "art" for this paper! It was derived from the Chinese nursery about mice stealing lamp oil in the face of potential danger :).

Our latest paper in @Nature explores a network connecting the lateral hypothalamus with the dorsolateral hippocampus that specifically responds to anticipation of sweet-fat food cues. This network exhibits dysregulation in obesity. @PennNSG @PennMedicine

Thanks @AlexandrCaron for spreading this. These unexpected observations are the results of hard work of my grad student Jing Cai and Dr. Cheng Zhan lab at USTC. Hope this could be repeated by others and the concept on a necessary role of AgRP neurons can be cleared up 🩷🤝🤝!

1/3 New serotonin (5-HT) GRAB sensors! We developed largely-improved green and all-new red genetically encoded fluorescent 5-HT sensors for dual-color imaging in vivo. Using these new 5-HT sensors, we are able to simultaneously monitor 5-HT and other neurochemicals.
