Agreed-makeup is absolutely a separator but it can’t be measured from 8 pitches at showcase, it requires relationship building. Velo/spin will get you opportunities but makeup + developing those tools will help you play this game for longer.
I see lots of twitter discussion about what’s most important...velocity/command/spin......makeup is the separator....That becomes more and more clear with every year that goes by and I’ll gladly die on that hill.

In my opinion the line is crossed when a team installs their own cameras to relay signals in real time. Using video of previous at-bats to decode signs? All good. Players/coaches using their eyes to pick signs and relay them? All good. I think

I agree 100%. I’ve been lucky enough to work for, coach with, and call Mark a mentor and friend for the last decade. You’d be hard pressed to find a better advocate for high school athletics anywhere. The MHSAA and student-athletes are in great hands with him leading the way.
