Smoltz talking about hitting the ball in the air introducing swing and miss. Vlad battling through multiple nasty splitters. Yamamoto going to a breaking ball and introducing a big timing difference. Good.

I can't imagine watching this game, watching the dynamic between hitter/pitcher, then posting about bat speed. If you're going to do it, do it both ways. There is so much about the game that contributes to winning to appreciate.

The Blue Jays don't give away free outs. Too many teams have too many gaps in their lineups with one dimensional "valuable" hitters that are very exposable. The pitching is good now. Approaches are less dynamic now. Both are true.

Curious what the Jay's staff's feel is for Yesavage. Hooks are always going to be quicker in the post-season, but do they have enough time to read his body language, know how he bounces back from situations.
