I walk - but most pedestrians aren’t cycling advocates…. If you’re promoting cycling, don’t assume that pedestrians count for your side. See @Telegraph Steve Bird article on cyclists non-stopping at zebras as your first example

Today's Sunday Telegraph reveals Transport for London has been forced to admit controversial Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs) can shift traffic onto boundary roads and slow bus times.

Here’s one with the beacons as well, for completeness’s sake. Presumably if there are become too, you’d ask cyclists to stop?
@JamesBurdass @Telegraph Those unmarked zebras aren't legal (or hence used) anywhere but on these bus stop/ cycle lane crossings! I'm sure a large proportion of users just aren't sure how they're supposed to work! We need public education & decent infra design, not further division...

Those in the older peoples and disability lobby need to get their act together. This stuff is spreading like wildfire and will certainly mean London’s only accessible transport becoming untenable for many older and disabled passengers.

Another false claim to add to Rod’s collection. Speed is now ‘theft’. As though anyone looking to race round Beaconsfield to the shops at 28mph is stealing something? ‘Plenty’ of others to go at - my other favourite is ‘less wars will be fought over oil’ despite fuel use ⬆️ @ 20!
SPEED BECOMES THEFT when it's the reason our children aren't allowed to walk or cycle to school, or elderly feel the streets are no longer safe. It's why #20splenty where people are. Well done @WGTransport for a making a difference.

Wow - scrapping new bikes lanes is popular. 1,745 likes for ‘no more bike lanes in Toronto’! Cycle Mikey getting worried - “hope he doesn’t get elected” seems they are worried 😦 😦 😂

Reminder that the maximum sentence for killing a pedestrian on a bike through wanton and dangerous cycling is two years, compared with the three year sentence for asking a cyclist to leave an (allegedly) shared use pavement and then subsequently dying.

As bikejackings are thankfully relatively rare compared to carjackings, nothing should be done about them? More ‘bikejackings’ are needed before anything should be done? #cyclelobbylogic
A teenager who committed a series of violent bikejackings in London in 2021, including one in which he knocked a rider off his bike using a moped before dragging him along for 100 metres and threatening him with a machete, has been sentenced to 12 months https://t.co/YgODDD87Fd

#streetsforall 🌧 🌧 💨 So today’s 4/20 cannabis smoking event was pretty much a washout… but it hasn’t stopped them from trashing #hydepark420 #hydepark @MPSRoyal_Parks @PDimoldenberg

Ah, yes, the old cycling campaigner argument that there’s always a car involved. Jonathan hasn’t read the Scepers study about accidents in the Netherlands?
@HaveringCyclist @VincentStops Let's not forget who kills all of these people, be they cyclists, pedestrians, car occupants, motorcyclists... it's drivers! So all this demonstrates is that car drivers have become a less safe in The Netherlands... I'm not sure what argument Vincent is making? Banning cars?

Having less cyclists die than in the UK seems an impossible dream to Netherlands cyclists….. maybe London can catch up a bit if we encourage more cycling? https://t.co/r3uALGQZmW
@VincentStops The casualty numbers alone might seem high but not when you factor in the high mileage that they cycle. Having cycling casualty rates per mile cycled any where near as low as the Netherlands seems like an impossible dream to UK cyclists.

Going from A to B using the shortest route should be banned, in the interests of cutting pollution. If someone tried this as a serious argument before LTNs came in, they would be laughed out of the council chamber!
@BBvoice4all But that’s exactly what it’s about - the ‘rights of drivists’ to point a vehicle in a particular direction and assume that they can get from point A to point B in the shortest possible route without interruption, deviation or delay because what they want trumps everyone else.

The truth is that many raising concerns about LTNs are moderates from across the political spectrum, including politicians from Labour, the Lib Dems and Green Party, yet the closest the programme came to providing a moderate view was a short segment featuring business owners.(4)

This is an excellent thread on the flaws in last night's Panorama programme on low traffic neighbourhoods.
The programme starts with the familiar mischaracterisation of opposition as prioritising driving freedom over tackling congestion & pollution and then gives a disproportionate amount of air time to voices from the right that do not represent the true nature of much opposition.(2)

Cyclists can be sensitive souls. Leisure cyclists in London are often keen to speak of the times when they did crash. Strangely this turns full circle when it comes to racing. Glad we have this clarification out there!

CRACK DOWN ON BIKE HACKS - #streetsforall has noted videos online showing users exactly how to bypass dockless bike software and get a free ride! @PDimoldenberg @westminstertory @CityWestminster following the Paris ban surely it is now time to terminate the licence of @limebike?

Please understand that this design is not is not safe or accessible and is not fit for purpose. This is built in discrimination. It is not a flag ship scheme but a red flag scheme and should not be copied or implemented in other locations please.
This is what our President who is blind said about the bus stop design where you step off the bus onto a narrow bus boarder next to a cycle lane on Lea Bridge Road, Waltham Forest ‘Not fit for purpose. It really is totally inaccessible. These sorts of designs should be scrapped’
