What we’ve seen in Trump’s second term is an historic misuse of executive power — sidestepping Congress and the states to enact his agenda. @statesunited has just released a new report on Trump's executive orders. Highly encourage you to take a look. https://t.co/08c4Balnuo

NEW >> Since returning to office, President Trump has issued 217 executive orders, far more than any president in history. The volume and pace of those issued suggests a governing style that relies heavily on unilateral action and side-stepping Congress. https://t.co/2nyIVNgKzU

The shooting of National Guard members in Washington, DC today is a horrible tragedy. We must all condemn this kind of unacceptable violence. MK and I are praying for the victims, their families, and all of our service members who sign up to serve our country.

Grateful to Sen. Murkowski for using her platform to speak truth to power. This ongoing weaponization of the military and the DOJ is dangerous. Servicemembers swear an oath to the Constitution, not to a person — and as such, they have the right to refuse illegal orders.

Senator Kelly valiantly served our country as an aviator in the U.S. Navy before later completing four space shuttle missions as a NASA astronaut. To accuse him and other lawmakers of treason and sedition for rightfully pointing out that servicemembers can refuse illegal orders

Mark Kelly is a patriot and an outstanding public servant. He’s devoted his life to this country as a Navy combat pilot, as an astronaut, and as a U.S. Senator who works every day to strengthen our national security and protect Arizonans.

When President Trump cut off SNAP benefits, Team Massachusetts stepped up to take care of our neighbors. Last week, I visited @FoodBankWMA, @spfldfoodpolicy, and our @DTA_Listens office in Springfield, where folks have been working overtime to feed families facing hunger.

Normalizing the use of military troops for domestic law enforcement sets a dangerous precedent. No President should be empowered to disregard states’ independence and deploy troops anywhere — with no check on their military power. This federal overreach is not normal or legal.

BREAKING: Trump administration ordered to halt ‘unlawful’ National Guard deployment in D.C. Huh. So I guess we should be worried about the military being asked to do illegal things.

A majority of Americans reject political violence in all of its forms. State leaders from both parties condemn it in the strongest terms. “No matter who you are or what you believe, there is never a place for violence in our politics,” said @JLydgate. https://t.co/7DupgDkNon

Our country desperately needs leaders willing to lead by example and tamp down violent rhetoric. Every day, we see Republican and Democratic state officials, and law enforcement and military leaders, doing just that. We should expect no less of our president.

It is beyond dangerous for any public official—let alone a sitting President—to suggest that political violence is ever okay. As someone who was the target of an assassination attempt himself, Donald Trump should know better.
