We did it, MInnesota! For the third time in a row, we are #1 in America in voter turnout. #1 in 2016 #1 in 2018 And now, #1 in 2020. (79.96% of eligible voters voted - a modern-day record) Amazing!

Totally false. This kind of misinformation is dangerous. In Minnesota, multiple safeguards ensure that a counterfeit ballot scheme would simply not work. We’ve had absentee balloting by mail for decades. People across the political spectrum use it, trust it, and love it.

FACT: 130,000 Minnesotans (in 78 of 87 counties) already live in communities with no polling place; they get ballots by mail every election without having to request or apply. We should scale up that system temporarily to put public health first during a pandemic election.

There’s no legitimate reason to second-guess the integrity of the 2020 election in Crow Wing County. The county ran the election with great skill, & our office won’t engage in an impossibly broad search for unspecified misconduct based on someone’s gut feeling, hunch, or belief.

Although ex-President Donald Trump won nearly two-thirds of the vote in central Minnesota's Crow Wing County in 2020, a group of residents appeared in droves to urge their government to open up yet another review of the 2020 election ballots.

Minnesotans don't have to worry about a repeat of what happened in Iowa. Our presidential primary will have the full reliability & integrity of Minnesota's election system (and our best-in-the-nation poll workers) to make sure it runs smoothly. And no app for reporting results.

HUGE BREAKTHROUGH on election security. The federal omnibus budget bill signed into law today has $380 million for election security grants to states, which should help us to better protect our election system. Thanks to @amyklobuchar for her leadership.

Now that the polls have closed in Minnesota’s presidential nominating primary, I want to thank the thousands of poll workers and election administrators across the state who have worked so hard to deliver an election that’s fair, honest, accurate, and secure.

People who encourage reckless conspiracy theories about our election system are poisoning our democracy and possibly inciting violence. That has to stop.

I introduced my 6 year old daughter to “The Sound of Music.” I had to explain why the men in swastika armbands were chasing the Von Trapp Family. Afterwards . . . Daughter: Do Nazis still exist? Me: Well, uhmmm . . . [struggling to find wise, accurate, age-appropriate words]

Check out the new radio ad! Lowery Smith is a 93 year-old Republican election judge who has voted for only two Democrats in his entire life. He’s proud that our elections in Minnesota are fair, accurate, and secure. I’m grateful for his support.

Several Minnesota politicians owe an apology to immigrants generally, and to the Somali-American community in particular, for suggesting that child care assistance fraud funded terrorists -- and for then using that allegation to urge an end to all (!) refugee resettlement in MN.

While fraud is happening in the state's Child Care Assistance Program, it is unclear how much, and there's no evidence the subsidies are going to terrorists, Minnesota's legislative auditor says

If Iowa can restore voting rights to those who have left prison behind, then so can we in Minnesota. It’s the right thing to do. And it’s bipartisan. Let’s join the growing list of states who have embraced second chances by extending democracy.

The guy who invented the “I Voted” sticker (and who started the first electronic voter registration database in Minnesota) is retiring. Congratulations to Joe Mansky, Ramsey County Director of Elections, who leaves an amazing legacy of election innovation and modernization.
