Our Statewide K-12 Graduation council engaged parents, teachers, students, administrators, colleges, and employers across Massachusetts. But the work is just getting started. We’ll take our next steps together and write the next chapter of our leadership in education.

Massachusetts has the best schools in America. But like a good student, we never stop learning. I'm releasing a new framework for graduation standards. We're moving past high-stakes tests to prepare students for college, career, military service — whichever path they choose 🎓

Massachusetts is full of people like Max — small business owners who show up for their neighbors. This Small Business Saturday, buy a gift card, pick up desserts for a party, pop in while you’re out shopping — support the folks who make mainstreets the heart of holidays.

When Max Ritcey heard that people weren’t going to get their SNAP benefits on time, he posted a message on social media — if you need food, order a free meal from Ritcey East. Over the next few weeks, he gave out over 100 free meals to families in and around Watertown.

Every day, @JLydgate and I are thankful to live in a state where people take care of each other. From our family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving.

State Representative Ann-Margaret Ferrante was one of the most selfless people I know. There was no one more loyal to her friends, family and constituents she served. I will miss her humor, guidance, passion and, most of all, friendship. My heart goes out to all who loved her.

Praying for the two National Guardsmen shot in Washington, DC today and grateful for first responders on the scene. Violence anywhere is wrong. An assault on American soldiers in our nation’s capital is outrageous — and something every American should mourn and denounce.

Massachusetts is stepping up on housing — building more, investing more and finding creative solutions. Instead of working with us, the Trump Administration is making it harder for folks, including veterans, to stay in their homes. Glad @MassAGO is taking them to court.

When President Trump cut off SNAP benefits, Team Massachusetts stepped up to take care of our neighbors. Last week, I visited @FoodBankWMA, @spfldfoodpolicy, and our @DTA_Listens office in Springfield, where folks have been working overtime to feed families facing hunger.

The shutdown is over, but the Trump Administration is delaying heating assistance another week — in late November. Families need heat now. The President should release the funds immediately.
