There were wonderful, selfless people who helped get this rock to travel over 3,000 miles to Texas to honor an amazingly kind teacher. This all happened because of the #pinksocks community. Each year I gift pinksocks to my classroom to build relationships. #pinksocksedu

I’m thrilled to share that my first children’s book is in motion! With the help of an editor and illustrator, significant progress is being made. I started this about 7 years ago to help my students manage their emotions, now it’s finally becoming book #1 of a series.

Everyday! If my students ask for it, they get it! There is no learning unless they are mentally ready and stable.
Some student behaviors look like ADHD, lack of motivation or defiance. Sometimes these behaviors are due to hunger, lack of sleep or fear. Let’s first prescribe a snack, nap or hug. This may be exactly what they need to succeed! #MaslowBeforeBloom

Can we normalize conversation starter questions such as “What’s bringing you joy today?” or “What’s been making you smile lately?” I am much more interested in those positive responses instead of the “How are you?” & the proverbial response of “Good.” We thrive on connection!

Energy sources vs. energy sinks. Learn to sense the difference. It can be tricky because both evoke internal arousal. Energy sources enable you to do your best work, live fully and contribute in meaningful ways. Energy sinks lead to the opposite. Tune up your (internal) sensors.
