From @JAMAPediatrics: Tablet use during early childhood may lead to more frequent child expressions of anger and frustration. Over time this could lead to a problematic cycle whereby children who express more anger also engage in more tablet use. https://t.co/6Q3D0SrbdE

First reported case of catatonia in a pediatric patient with MED13L haploinsufficiency syndrome. N=1, but we learned 2 key lessons: 1) if you don’t look, you may miss catatonia in rare genetic disorders 2) ECT is effective, and R/B/A discussion is nuanced. https://t.co/IW15fGGbGi

The Benevolent Childhood Experiences (the opposite of the ACEs) try to capture the positive things in a childhood that can enhance long term outcomes in mental health. Important to evaluate the good things that can happen in a child’s life rather than just the negatives.

Thanks - whatever you think, whatever you've heard about #ECT Whatever you've seen in films. Don't dismiss #ECT until you've listened to this programme. Listen to the people whose lives have been saved. Listen to the dedicated nurses who administer treatment.

I'm convinced #catatonia is commoner than we know, often overlooked or misdiagnosed as failure to thrive, delirium, psychosis, etc. Catatonia awareness is urgently needed among ED, IM, & neuro clinicians b/c they're likely the first ones to see pts with catatonia.

#Parenting Information can be given. Meaning can be discussed. Behaviours can be enforced. Skills can be demonstrated and practiced. Values and wisdom must be learned on our own. Dont confuse one for another.
