Kids need to feel comfortable to say no, disappoint family, and hold their own beliefs. Now he’s gone because of a need to “please” his father who was foolish. Too many grownups do the same. That’s the tragedy for me. He knew it wasn’t safe, but felt disempowered to say no.

Um my friends planned a cabin trip and we were playing hot seat & they asked him “What do you dislike most about Talley” & he said as quickly as he could “Talley has never met a silence she wasn’t desperate to fill”…you could hear a fucking pin drop and i cried in the bathroom.
