@EdinburghUni
is still going ahead with the viewing of "Adult Human Female" (a transphobic documentary) at 50 George Square on December 14th. LGBTQ+ and feminist societies will have a stall outside the venue, please join at 5:30 to show your solidarity for the trans community.

A final reflection on Eurovision 2023.
Hundreds of people arrived at Helsinki Airport to welcome Käärijä back whilst chanting his name and signing Cha Cha Cha. As a Eurovision fan and a Finn living abroad, I cannot describe how proud I am of Käärijä and how moved I am by 1/
I am BEGGING for journalists to stop calling anything LGBTQ+ related "controversial". Stop normalising this. First, an administrative change that would only affect trans people seeking a GRC was controversial, now conversion therapy???
EXCLUSIVE: UP to 15 SNP rebels could derail Humza Yousaf’s controversial bid to ban conversion therapy
But ministers may not bring a bill forward till 2025 in the hope UK Labour will bring their own version and bail them out of a problem
I have no words to describe how disgusting this reaction to a trans constituent describing their su*cidal thoughts is. Why are
@UKLabour
and
@theSNP
content with having MPs who lack basic human empathy?
To Douglas Ross, a man in a sparkly outfit and wig is automatically sexual and therefore inappropriate for children. If you're attracted to drag queens Douglas, that's okay. Just don't try to make a children's story time event about your sexuality. It's weird.
It’s totally inappropriate to hold a show like this for kids under the age of six.
Story time for babies and young kids shouldn’t focus on gender or sexual identity.
That is common sense and on behalf of constituents who’ve contacted me, I’ve raised this with the council.
LGB Alliance supporter telling a bi person "we don't give a flying f*ck what you think." "Get back in your lane".
Remember folks, the B in LGB Alliance is silent.

Transphobes like to demand freedom of speech but only for them. You want to hold a transphobic film viewing on campus that is meant to be safe for queer staff & students? We will protest. The film is available online, just watch it at home 😊
We moved venues in an effort to see Adult Human Female and guess what. A group of students are stopping us from going into the theatre. So much for free speech in the home of enlightenment #
As a trans & non-binary student at
@EdinburghUni
, I'm sick and tired of the University allowing anti-trans propaganda on campus. If I remember correctly, this will be the 3rd viewing event for this film. Join us for a protest on the 22nd of Nov at 40GS, 5:30pm.

Lol yes, it's funny how therapy makes us see the abusive relationships we're in for what they are, but the abusers don't like it when we start getting smarter and hold them accountable 😂
A man thought an elderly woman was trans, therefore a "predatory pedophile", and nearly killed her because of it. I beg GCs to tell me again how their views aren't transphobic and cause no real harm. A suspicion of being trans was almost a death sentence to this woman.
@fatfabfeminist
I'm Finnish and I swear the fatphobia I've experienced from Finnish people, especially my own family, is a category on its own. They're so BAFFLED by my fatness because most of them don't even have fat people as friends or colleagues.
The love he's received. Seeing a song in my native language get internationally popular and then win the public vote at ESC (2nd highest ever) has been incredible. Hearing the crowd chant his song and name during the final last night made me tear up.
Although the loss feels 2/
I love seeing heat pumps in many Finnish homes whenever I visit family & friends. Then I remember the "Scottish climate is too cold for heat pumps" argument, laugh to myself whilst it's -20C outside but I'm indoors perfectly cozy.

For staff and students: New College is hosting a 'Queering Wellbeing' event in early April. This will be a student-led event focusing on the experiences of LGBTQ+ students on campus and I will be speaking on the trans & non-binary perspective. DM me for details!
I arrived in Scotland couple weeks too late to register to vote in the first indy ref, and quite frankly, at the time I didn't think it was my place to be involved in local politics so fresh off the plane. But I know better now, and will be voting Yes.
#WhyNotScotland
I was 13 in 2014. Too young to vote, but that referendum gave my generation an opportunity to dream of a Scotland free of Westminster's cruelty.
IndyRef2 is our time to turn that dream into a reality and build a fairer, greener Scotland.

Bitter, Käärijä had a unique impact on this year's competition that no other entry achieved, and I hope we see more of him in years to come. I will be a fan of our crazy party king forever 💚

To clarify, this is a photo of the couple who took joy in making me feel incredibly uncomfortable. The man tried to touch me, kept trying to speak to me after I told him I wasn't interested in engaging with him, 1/

There is nothing peaceful about the "prayers" in front of clinics we have seen so far, people are shouting abuse at those accessing reproductive health services. See Sandyford clinic protests as an example.
Just wondering, as a non-binary person with short hair, when will society move past the need for gendered haircuts and charging double or triple the price for cuts for "women"?
@StarLiteTV_
I genuinely want the best for him but he better keep Jenna's name out of his mouth. I am so angry that he claimed to have been "inspired" by her, when we all know she was called out for being associated with him and Jeffree, although she didn't mention them by name in her video.
This week's Goose photo is an excellent example of the type of comfort Goose provides to the Green parliament corridor. Hugging Goose alleviates stress effectively, essential for MSPs and staff alike.

If you view cis women, and other people can get pregnant, as human beings, you should care. Don't need to have any women in your life, you should care regardless.

you know what doesn't improve trans people's mental health or overall wellbeing? The way they've been talked about in the chamber today and yesterday. Don't pretend to care about especially young trans people's wellbeing when within the same hour so many MSPs have 1/

I support academic freedom but not that kind that masks transphobia and racism. Deeply saddened that
@EdinburghUni
allows this event to go ahead. Student and staff safety should come first and freedom should come with accountability.

Nobody is preventing people from seeing it. It's available online and whilst yes, UCU and others have written to the university to cancel the event, we cannot stop it physically from happening.

Good question but needs a long reply.
First, what do you mean by "allowing"? Trans people have been using spaces aligning with their gender identity forever, and their right to do so is protected by law (see The Equality Act). Nothing is currently changing this. Some people 1/

Trans people are also very real people! Spreading misinformation about trans people has nothing to do with women's rights, unless they depend on the oppression of trans people. Many cis women don't see them at odds at all.
Your "solidarity" means nothing when you intentionally leave out the T. Club Q is an LGBTQ+ venue that had plans to commemorate Transgender Day of Remembrance today. Your rhetoric contributes to the hate that kills the T and Q people you leave out. Show some decency.
We are horrified by the news of the mass shooting at Club Q in Colorado Springs, and stand in solidarity with LGB people worldwide against this senseless hatred.
Our thoughts are with the victims, and all who knew and loved them.
Finland’s Prime Minister

is in the headlines after a video of her partying was leaked today.
She has previously been criticized for attending too many music festivals & spending too much on partying instead of ruling.
The critics say it’s not fitting for a PM.
There is no "both sides" situation when it comes to LGBTQ+ people's right to exist and live with freedom and dignity. You either support us, or you're giving validity to people & arguments that seek to eradicate us.
Following statements made today by the Council Leader, Edinburgh Green councillors want to again express our solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community, and particularly trans people who are facing a concerted attempt to rollback their rights. [1/5]

The societies organising a stall in response to the viewing will be handing out leaflets outside the venue, so yes, we are putting up a counter argument ☺️

I think instead of going to see Adult Human Female, older TERFs should be going to a class on how to use the internet. They wouldn't need to travel to watch a film on our campus if they knew how to access it online ☺️

Big same. I will never "love" my body because I don't feel like it matches my gender identity as someone who is non-binary. So instead I just want to accept it, and maybe focus on what my body can do for me, how strong it feels etc.

Think that GRR in Scotland would change this but it doesn't impact the Equality Act or women's spaces.
Second, when we ask "what about faith groups", we firstly assume that all, let's say, Muslim women feel the same about trans women, and second, that there are no Muslim 2/
