My grandma. She died in Louisiana in 1967. She birthed AT LEAST 15 kids while sharecropping & lived under Jim Crow. During the emergency that led to her death, medics wouldn’t come because ambulances didn’t help Colored people then.
I never knew her, but I think about her often.
