Further evidence of the massive disparity in the Fortnum&Mason pies. They were the mini ones that had a crunchy top, which apparently some took issue with!. Wishing everyone the best over the festive season! 🎄

And the winner . is Morrisons, by a hair! Followed closely by Fortnum&Mason and Greggs. Bars in the middle represent the median scores, and the mincepie icons are the mean. F&M was very divisive, whereas Greggs had the lowest variance!

Our analysis provides an outline for a generalised strategy to profile disease-associated GWAS loci using high-throughput variant screening in concert with multilayered functional annotation.15/.

In summary, we provide insight into the functional basis of risk loci, implicating novel genes in the development of CRC, expanding the potential for therapeutic targeting.14/.

This integrated analysis identified 208 genes from the GWAS loci with a direct link between risk variant and gene. Through literature mining we find most of the genes (142/208) have no documented role in CRC, and 47 of these presently have no established role in any cancer.13/

Additionally, we applied the activity-by-contact (ABC) model to systematically link Micro-C data in conjunction with ATAC-seq, H3K27ac ChIP–seq and RNA-seq data. Loci were linked to a gene if there were at least two sources of evidence (SMR normal, SMR tumour, ABC, Micro-C).12/.
