A friend of mine also lost 100lbs over several months and docs told her the same thing. She couldn’t keep any food down but they were pleased with her weight loss and kept ignoring her concerns. Her 6th doc finally did a proper work up and found she had an enzyme deficiency.

I think profesionalism is weaponized in a way that hurts mainly minorities, and not enough is done to correct actual unprofessional behavior students display amongst each other and certainly with patients.

I brought up my concerns to faculty about possibly moving to a less safe city after match as a single female and my school actually listened. They scheduled a self defense class with our campus PD that doesn’t conflict with our didactics so people can attend. I’m elated 🥹

That’s actually because most of the mitochondria for the sperm are only used to make the tail propel itself enough to get the head (contains all the DNA) into the egg. The tail doesn’t really make it into the egg so most of the mitochondria are from mom!

I’ll never forget when people from my church showed up early for my HS grad party and we weren’t done setting up so they started helping with the decorations 💀 my party ended at 9 and all the Africans showed up at 9:30 🥴

Our dean of UME told us to seriously consider dropping interviews if we have > 15 scheduled, but also to give programs at least a two-week notice as a courtesy. Honestly he’s so real for that

one thing i miss about spain was how lazy everybody is lmao businesses don’t open till like 11 am and they take like a 4 hour break a couple hours later, nobody is arsed. we went to a restaurant and had to wait like 20 minutes cause the entire staff was having a round of beers

Unless you’re trying to conceive there’s no medical reason to have a period. We have an array of pharmaceutical and surgical options for minimizing or eliminating periods, which are at best inconvenient and at worst disabling. Seriously fuck menstruation
