Really hope the acgme listens to CORD & delaying any recs as advised. Honestly hope if they require a transition to 4 (which is still up in the air) that we dont start until like 2029 at the earliest. Even better would be to take more time and study the decision further.

I have never once reread a book. But lately Ive gotten the urge to re-read my favorite novels of adolescence again bc I barely remember them 30 years later. Stephen King’s It and The Stand. Seems like a good idea….

My yearly reminder. You are where you should be. Work hard and embrace challenge. Expertise never just happens without the slow struggle to constantly improve over time. When things get hard remember that it’s those moments that will ultimately make you better. Good luck all.
For every PGY1 thats nervous about July 1, theres a PGY2 nervous about no longer being an intern, a PGY3 nervous about being in their last year, and a graduate nervous about being a new attending. And someone with years of experience out there who knows you all will be ok.

As per yearly tradition, I waited until the night before to write my graduation speech. And as per tradition, despite thinking about it for weeks, I had no clue what theme I was going to center it around until I sat down to write. 🤷🏻♂️.

My 3 favorite little nuances about EM moving to residencyCAS:. 1. No region signaling but instead you can name 3 locations (city, state) you feel a connection to. 2. PS word count limit and no more “personalizing” the PS . 3. Section for past non-medical jobs!!!.

Yesterday I responded to a frantic call from my mom and went to the scene of an accident in the woods where my 70 yo dad had broken his neck (C2 fx, but thankfully neuro intact). Shoutout to all the EM staff and Trauma docs for taking care of him. We train great people.
