This misunderstands politics to the level of being false. Democrats have long wanted to remove Iowa. But no presidential nom wanted to guarantee the loss of Iowa in the general. Biden didn’t make this decision. The voters of Iowa did by being un-gettable for Democrats in 2024.

First, Biden's obvious decline is a Thing That is True. My job is Saying Things That Are True (And Explaining What Follows). "Why are you saying this thing that is true?" is a dumb question to ask a journalist. It is particularly distressing when it comes from other journalists.

Little known fact: The largest number of federal troops called to end a protest occurred on a college campus. It was the University of Mississippi. In 1962 students and "external community members" (white supremacists organization members) were rioting to prevent integration.
