For the first two years of the Biden term, the border was *literally closed* to asylum seekers due to Title 42. House Dems passed major bills curbing exec branch power. These facts are clear but inconvenient.
In retrospect, political lessons are clear but inconvenient: 1) earlier border enforcement 2) less stimulus 3) no student loan changes to be overturned 4) get Biden not to run 5) focus Congress on reducing presidential power while Reps would have incentive to go along

This is right except that academia is the problem. We’re never going to fix academia if we keep calling it “Democrats.”
The land acknowledgements thing is a problem in the following ways: 1. voters don't care about it 2. voters notice that the people who do care about it are deranged in lots of other ways and don't want them running things 3. it's actually a completely crazy idea on its own terms

What’s *actually* happening here is that social media is allowing people to pretend like party platforms matter thereby reducing their usefulness as a way to throw a bone to activists.
This is a party who tried to label their opponents "weird" during the 2024 election cycle.

Journalists begged Biden to drop out to “save democracy,” he DID, and they responded by handwaving every asinine thing Trump did the rest of the campaign. And now they’re trying to do some sort of tribunal about Biden’s age. You can integrate all these things but it’s not easy.
