@DanWuori
Sweet 😊. And what mothers and fathers need is simply more time alone with their babies to further develop these changes.
The US is still the only wealthy country without a national policy for guaranteed paid parental leave. Parents and babies NEED this.
While many people tend to focus on toddler tantrums, I like to showcase how they spend most of their time. Yes, tantrums happen, but only on average once a day with a median time of 3 minutes. It would be highly unusual for them to go on for more than 15 minutes.
If we examine

My personal favorite is the tonic neck reflex (fencing reflex).
When the head is turned to the side, the corresponding arm will straighten, with the opposite arm will bend, like a little fencer. 😊
This might be the cutest thing I have seen all year.
Young children love animals, and one of their favorite places to go is the farm. Goats are particularly special because they like being around people and receiving affection from them. And there is actually something called

A simple walk for a group of preschoolers or toddlers can be such a fun activity. It’s more of a saunter as they smile and wave at people, examine bugs along the way, and laugh for no reason.
And walking groups are good for adults too! Research shows that adult outdoor walking
Toddlers and preschoolers spend a lot of their time being active and it’s often hard to keep up with them! But they are also highly perceptive and see the beauty around us no matter how small (a ladybug, a cloud shaped like a bunny) or big, like this sunset.
And there’s
@DanWuori
Beautiful. Many people often only associate tantrums when they think of toddlers because that's when toddlers get noticed.
But tantrums are brief, and the rest of toddler time is spent demonstrating empathy and altruism like nobody else.
@DanWuori
I am convinced that there is also a "doctor stage" of development for young children (unpublished research😉). They all love medical kits!
Some even bring them along to their medical visits and start examining me! And then we can both examine their stuffie, of course. So cute.
Toddlers love picking up objects and throwing them around. Usually they make a mess, but if done in the right way, like this little guy, it almost looks like he is decluttering his room. He even closes the door to get it out of his sight 😊

Toddlers will try just about any new physical activity. Look at this champ!
While toddlers do all of the strength training they need to do, naturally, this is not the case for adults. Only about 20% of adults do any strength training or lift weights.
But this is important

Yes! And in parts of the world where they don't have baby incubators, skin to skin contact is life saving. For low birthweight infants, a 40% reduction in deaths with Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC).

Cute! Toddlers and preschoolers are so good at making friends because they smile more, laugh more, ask more questions, and offer more invitations to play. The most important tools for relationship building at any age. 👍
A friendly toddler reminder that it is important to take breaks! Even toddlers, the most physically active people who fill their days with fun and educational activities, need breaks.

Shower or bath?
While this little guy decided to explore a shower (but forgot one key step😊), most toddlers love taking baths, especially as part of their nighttime routine. Adults for the most part, prefer showers.
So, which is better?

Eat with your friends!
When toddlers and preschoolers are at daycare, they always eat their meals together. This provides them with extra social time for smiles, laughs, and pea squishing which is more fun when doing it in a group.
Similarly, the same is true for adults.
It’s truly inspiring how friendly young children can be to strangers. Whether it’s a big smile, an enthusiastic “Hi!” or sometimes even a long-lasting hug like this little guy decided to do.
And there’s a lesson there for all of us on how important interactions with strangers

Fascinating how their anatomy changes so much. These differences also lead to injuries only seen in young children, like a pulled elbow.
Don't pick up little kids up by their hands/wrists only! But if you do, it's okay, easily fixed. 👍

Here's the thing... Young children are good judges of character. To be loved by them is just🥰. As an adult, when we feel rejected by them it kind of wounds us and can feel a little bit humiliating. It's easier to brush off kids than admit that they hurt our feelings.
