JK is the real accelerationist. the marriage-divorce cycle is way faster than Apple's AI launch.
Hello everyone,. I wish to share that I have now relocated my base of operations to New York and, for a variety of both scientific and personal reasons, Jiankui and I will be pursuing separate paths. My professional and personal commitments are now rooted in North America, while.

If we can make ice-cream with anti-freeze proteins.3D print those ice-cream with anti-freeze proteins.and make those ice-cream colorful with chromoproteins. It would be a very good dessert. #protein #synbio #food.
Today is #NationalIceCreamDay.Natural antifreeze proteins purified have been used as a preservative in ice cream

Just invent powerful techniques that can be easily operated by not one, not two, but infinite numbers of different lab automation machines.
People who are passionate about automating science should consider challenging themselves to move earlier in the innovation cycle. Who will be the first team to develop a 0-to-1 technique natively on a robot for the first time?. Who will make a robot that can cook?.

Next step, Meta offer $1 billion to hire ex-CEO of Novo Lars Fruergaard Jorgensen, to create weight loss shots for their AI team.
NEWS: Zucc offered $200 million to poach Apple’s AI Chief . > Apple’s CEO compensation was $74.6 million last year lol.> Zucc offered 3x more than Apple CEO .> Apple didn’t try to match the offer…. LMAO

I guess donation turned out to be a terrible model (on wikipedia, sci-hub). what if. biorixv can sell some token. And everyone could use their token to vote other people's paper they think should be promoted to the top🤔.
If we swing to a preprint-centric model, let’s normalize paying a small fee to support @biorxivpreprint et al. Fortunately, free for use now but it isn’t without cost.

(1/2) People tend to forget computation always happens on a physical substrate. As cells are super-good at this, and bio methods scale way faster and cheaper than semiconductor-based. imo, the whole-cell model will never be more capable or efficient than a real cell.
This quote is one of my fav parts of biology too. Amazing long read from @srikosuri - worth a read for the virtual cell modelers. Excited to see a new generation take a swing!

The next big revolution in software is still biology period.
How to build a thriving open source community by writing code like bacteria do 🦠. Bacterial code (genomes) are:. - small (each line of code costs energy).- modular (organized into groups of swappable operons).- self-contained (easily "copy paste-able" via horizontal gene

When I was about to graduate, I planned to interview a generation of scientists that pioneered the biotechnology as we know it, especially who I am also academic related. It's a pity. My plan never worked out due Covid, and I've never had the chance to meet Prof. Eshhar, my phd.
We, the Weizmann Institute of Science community, deeply mourn the passing of Prof. Zelig Eshhar of the Department of Immunology and Regenerative Biology. Prof. Eshhar was a trailblazing scientist in the field of cancer immunotherapy, a recipient of the Israel Prize in Life

You can never imagine how "creative" people could be when they know absolutely nothing.
This is insane…. 🚨 RFK JR says Dr. Anthony Fauci funded something called “The seamless ligation technique, aka the "no-see'm" method”, which was a Technique Designed to HIDE Evidence of Human Tampering with a Virus. And he gave this technique to the Chinese Government. “What

The true differences here. is biology could really fuck you. while AI still need a robotic dog carrying AK47.
Biotech spent decades trying to win the public trust with messages about responsibility and caring about patients. It didn’t particularly work. Big tech is taking a different tack - leaning into “fuck you try and stop us”. I’m morbidly curious to see if it will matter
