When you don’t have much, what you do have is precious; foster kids shouldn’t be forced the cary their belongings in trash bags between placements. S.3781 would provide them actual luggage—which is the literal least we owe our foster youth.

“This is about representation. We don’t have enough people with disabilities, and we don’t have enough young moms in the halls of power. This is about the missing voices of millions of Americans who don’t have representation in our own government.” -@SenDuckworth

Funding early childhood education is tricky: most public programs serve low-income families, while most private tuition is too low to support fair compensation yet still too high for most families. "Blending and braiding funding" can help bridge the gap.

Our latest report, "Protecting New York City," isn't a happy one. Instead, it gives New Yorkers a clear-eyed view of the threats an incoming Trump Administration poses to our city. We can't put up a fight if we don't identify what we're up against.
