Evidence says #DoYourPelvicFloorExercises x3/day for 3 months gets 3/4 of women with stress incontinence dry (that’s the one where you leak a bit if you laugh, cough or sneeze). If it doesn’t work, hurts, or you’re not sure what you’re doing then come to clinic. #DryByChristmas.

I’m still wary, but glad this has been resolved without having to take up court time. The Articles book group had a lovely meeting at the library yesterday.

This is the first literary institution in Scotland to apologise *directly and straightforwardly* to feminist writers for giving in to their hounders. I am thrilled for Susan and Lucy who were put under such unnecessary stress & upset over all of this. 💜 https://t.co/5tbS4nWet2

Patients from gender clinics are handed over to GPs, usually after just two visits. GPs are expected to manage long-term monitoring via blood tests and prescribing of cross sex hormones (and in some cases puberty blockers if there was prescription in place from before the ban).

As we await the Levy Review findings please read the oral evidence given to the House of Commons in 2021: Due to difficulty recruiting specialists GICs they decided to use GPs in their new ‘extremely lean’ model for care (pilot GICs). Rapid transition into primary care enabled

I have been heard of a young trans ID person seeking help from NHS pelvic health physio, told “we don’t do transgender care”. @CACEnotes and I have looked at the prevalence of pelvic health disorders in this population. They need physio @RosieDuffield1 @WomensRightsNet

When the gay male detransitioner I interviewed yesterday told the Sandyford clinic he was detransitioning, they had no idea how to support him in this (medically and psychologically) The clinician quipped: “Good thing you didn’t get the surgery then!” He was right at the top of

“If you cannot define it, you cannot protect it.” My governing body has three definitions of transphobia. I’d say that’s more of a pick n mix than a definition, but, then, IANAL.

Actual kindness. Actual vengeance would have been an understandable course of action but these women are grown ups. They should stand for election.

As GPs we are seeing young women (‘trans men’) with urinary incontinence and painful vaginal atrophy, who had not been warned that testosterone would cause this. We see men (‘trans women’) who are suffering constant pain because of taking oestrogen.

The management of these patients is termed ‘shared care’ but in fact the gender clinics do not see these patients in person again.

The mass histrionics over female only institutions is ridiculously predictable. It's twofold I think - there's the direct anger at not being able to access these institutions, but also the secondary fury of losing a fight to women who have said no.

So, maybe I should get the (bloody) course finished (DBC is way behind), then the book, then the fringe show. Tom Daley won’t feature in it.
