Dulwich Village is part of the timed restrictions inside the Dulwich LTN. We were told this would encourage cycling. These are the latest Southwark cycling figures. Traffic is up 15%, which means more pollution and more congestion on this road. #LTNfail

Why can’t @SouthwarkLabour take the views and impacts on small business more seriously like @MarshadeCordova The impacts are clear as day - talk to the 5 business closed or left our road since our LTN but still no one wants to address it? @cllrmseaton @kieronjwilliams

I am visiting businesses on Balham High Road to discuss the A24 Streetspace scheme. It is great to bring @TFL so they can listen to the views of the businesses affected.

Yet @lb_southwark still claim they are closing roads to help with the climate emergency, when it is clear increased journey kms, at least 837Km a day from the ED LTN is counter productive in that regard, while damaging small businesses. @RoseCllr @cllrmseaton @Jason_Ochere

The all too evident, evidence that LTNs do nothing for carbon emissions, in fact makes them worse, is stacking up. LOUISE PERRY reports on the creeping war against motorists https://t.co/WEbVx1wVKL via @MailOnline

LOUISE PERRY: In Dulwich, the conflict has grown particularly heated. A public consultation found that two-thirds of residents want the council to remove the LTNs.

No surprise at all to us. Back in March we evidenced fr Southwark data that the ED LTN, had increased journey KMs by 837.8km a day. As Southwark never collected data on 3 other roads they closed for this scheme, it’s likely much higher. @JohnJohnStewart @RoseCllr @DulwichCleanAir

Today's Times reveals total vehicle miles driven in the 10 inner London boroughs that put in LTNs or equivalent in 2020 rose by 11.4% on average last yr as traffic returned to more normal levels but in the 2 inner London boroughs that didn't put in LTNs the average was only 8.9%.

Turney road closure will mean displacement onto busiest section of DV, Village Way, Pickwick etc. And of course there will be even more congestion on Croxted, Sth Circular. Poor scheme, harming more people than it helps. @AirCroxted @ChitchClaire @east_grove

Melbourne Grove Market is finally is a go today, after delayed start due to the Queen’s passing. It’s put on by social enterprise Citizens Art. Expect lots of art stalls this week and great creative pieces. Pop down and help make it a success!

Yes! A market will be starting on Melbourne Grove this Sat 10th Sept. Business here had a tumultuous time since road closures Sept 20 devastated footfall. 2 years on, finally a positive. Please support the market & local businesses. @DulwichHamletFC @DulwichReopen @cllrmseaton

Same in the Dulwich Village LTNs. Nearly all businesses oppose the system because they are losing customers.

Out speaking to shop keepers here in the LTN ….. LCC members are lying when they stated shops support it …..I spoke to a number of business owners and all are dead against it ….. don’t believe the lies from Better Streets and LCC …..

@James20230703 No need! TfL didn't crumble under the pressure Southwark tried to exert on them to not publish. https://t.co/ICcJflnXRU

This is going to cause lost custom, problems for delivery/pick-up drivers to food businesses, parking for customers, access issues to school for deliveries, how are we only hearing about it now? Events telephone mail box full and no one is answering. @cllrmseaton

@andrewellson I wish I could say that’s a surprise. It’s a very British form of corruption. It shows how they’ve exploited Covid & abused emergency powers for their own gain. The absence of scrutiny through this whole sorry mess has shone a bright spotlight on the failings of local democracy.

Half Moon Lane has seen huge increases in HGV traffic since the LTNs were put in place. HGVs account for 18% of greenhouse gas emissions and 13% of NOx emissions for road transport in the UK according to the Dept for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy. @JudithKerrPS

How do pro-LTN supporters justify this on a road with three schools, playing fields, a nursery, a medical centre and *people's homes*? This is displacement, with no evaporation. This is increased pollution, not lowering carbon emissions. This is all to keep a few roads closed.

Businesses on MGN in particular have been treated appallingly. Really worried that if bus lanes become 24/7 on Lordship Lane all destination businesses will no longer survive. Cllrs have all demonstrated they don't care for our businesses here, they won't treat LL any better.

Who To Vote For In Goose Green Ward: 🗳️Lib Dems Labour have behaved particularly appallingly in Goose Green Ward over LTNs. James McAsh claimed in Nov 21 they had 'found LTNs help climate change.' They have not. Southwark have no evidence, he misinformed entire council...

Dulwich Village now on a weekend. A congested and polluted road with lines of traffic from the junction of East Dulwich Grove all the way back to the roundabout in Dulwich Village. And yet the Labour candidates will tell you LTNs fight climate change and lower emissions...

How I wish, instead of pursuing disastrous& divisive LTNs which have have marginal benefit & cause significant harm, @southwarklabour had had a laser focus on improving transport, access & pavements for disabled people. @AgeSpeakDulwich

Most people can turn up at a station and hop on the next train. For me and millions of disabled people, if we haven’t pre-booked assistance, it can be impossible to travel. Here’s what happened when I attempted it just now:
