4/ But good example of why this type of escalation by Trump of all people is needlessly putting citizens and other law enforcement in danger. History will not be kind to Congress’ failure to act — most especially to Republicans that keep moving the red line for when they’ll act.

3/ In one instance, officers requested “cover” from their Marine attachment. The Marines understood that to mean lay cover fire and as a result fired hundred of rounds into a house the LAPD was going to. (Fortunately, no one hurt).

2/ During 1992 LA riots at the request of CA Governor and LA Mayor, President Bush sent federal reinforcements including Marines. Marines were backing up LAPD.
