Good to see @CHinchliffMP talking about dry rivers as well as pollution - @AffinityWater abstraction has destroyed the chalkstreams of NE Herts, taking 40% of recharge in our catchment alone. The irony is that they would be dry for most of their length without STW discharges
The chalk streams in North East Hertfordshire and across England are of international significance, but too often these waterways are not just polluted but also often running dry. 2/3 @ivel_rev @RiverBeane @FriendsRib @camvalleyforum @CamConservancy

The Nightingales of Middlewick, Birch Brook and Weir Lane! A RECORD COUNT of 37 singing Nightingales. This staggering Nightingale count rivals/exceeds Fingringhoe Wick - in fact these two populations will be intimately connected, they are only 3km apart as the Nightingale flies.

"A development company that sells off land no longer needed by Thames Water has paid out a £14m dividend despite warnings". Yep despite now demanding bill payers bailout the failing WC @thameswater and or their owners are still trying to pickpocket you. https://t.co/Guyg4NFUh1

@RachSalv It's worse than that - the illegal activity upon which water company profitability has been founded for many years is the result of decisions made by senior executives who have been protected from investigation and prosecution by regulators that were either inept or complicit.

Who is paying the lawyers to defend the big money interests behind the Thames Water Scam? Wouldn't be the billpayers would it? Can we have some transparency @Ofwat please? https://t.co/zhzkyA4isV

I’m a fan of the Guardian’s coverage & some good detail here but the suggestion that reporting on the permit compliance scandal is in some way ‘exclusive’ is a stretch! Panorama first reported on this with @watervole3 & @WindrushWasp early 2021 & many have since - including…
