Furthermore, that judges side with the Government is not evidence that the environmental claims were unjustified! Maybe they have bought in to the 'growth at any cost to future generations' mantra!.

The huge concerns about the P&I Bill from ecologists nationwide, along with environmental groups & those who are very concerned about the proposed reductions in democracy & consultation opportunities are another example of this Government NOT acting in the public interest!.

@communityplan1 has over 700 communities on their map, showing the widespread levels of inappropriate development - development that these communities believe is not in the public interest!

The government should be focused on listening to their communities – not listening to lobbyists from those with a vested interest in destroying the environment for short term monetary gains - those who inflate housing numbers (& ignore the need for social housing)!.

Developers have 1million+ homes with planning permission not built, they act as a cartel (& are able to escape punishment for legal breaches by paying a pitiful fee) & they renege on their infrastructure & social housing contributions on ‘viability’ grounds!.

They also have to fund their legal teams – these are sizeable amounts. So, NO community group decides to take legal action lightly. The Government, and local authorities, are NOT acting in the public interest when they enable (eg) the destruction of irreplaceable habitats.

A rather selective piece from @samcoatessky about the use of JRs by communities. Their ‘costs’, which have to be raised via donations (unlike Councils, who use public money, or developers, who use corporate overhead funds) are not limited to the £10k fee if they lose!.
