@M1Flournoy PSA: Our soft-on-crime DA and judges routinely let actual criminals with guns go free. But city leaders ignore it.
WWL-TV's @MikePerlstein discussed his eye-opening report about New Orleans DA and judges undermining LA law to go easy on felons with guns. @LDAAJustice #lalege @MomsDemand. šļø Why did the DA's office grant multiple breaks to violent criminals? @WWLAMFM

āThis [facial recognition] system works. when itās paused, we lose time. Sometimes, that can mean losing lives.ā FBI, DEA, ATF, U.S. Marshals, LSP, and other area authorities use Project NOLA. Absurd to exclude NOPD. Pass the ordinance, @NOLACityCouncil. Public safety first.

š @GNOinc #NOLACoalition.
Murders in New Orleans are way down, and it's not by accident. Experts credit smart policing, major investments, and community-driven violence prevention. The progress is real, and we look forward to sustaining it. Read More:

so many people told me to have faith in @HelenaMorenoLA and @CmGiarrusso .If this turns out to be true, I will be evangelical about how New Orleans government can work well.

Why is this still an issue, @CityOfNOLA @NOLACityCouncil?.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can get New Orleans government either @NOLACityCouncil or @mayorcantrell to enforce zoning laws against @OUTFRONTMEDIAUS?.our neighborhood does not want this 24 hour Jumbotron intruding on our homes

Thank you, Senator @JayJaymorris3! No excuse for the basics to stay so broken here. Appreciate you and #lalege stepping in.
@bigeasy_mag Why shouldnāt it be stripped? It supposed to be the crown jewel of the state but thousands of Louisiana citizens refuse to go there because of the crime, weak judicial system, poor governance & NOLA residents are moving out in droves. #lalege will try to do what NOLA canāt or.

Thank you, @nopjf and @Cassiewdsu for bringing this to the publicās attention. Disturbingly bad policy that leaders of reliably safe, officer-supportive communities know better than to implement.

Yet another bad decision around public safety and respect for officers, this one lead by OIPM and approved by @NOLACityCouncil. Why in the world would we post this database online, particularly when *3/4* of "complaints" are without merit? Who wants to police in this environment?
While no one is paying attention, a āDefund the Policeā dream is becoming a reality. Weāre sounding the alarm. Watch here: The āPolice Accountability Dashboardā AKA the āPolice Misconduct Dashboardā intends to list every ALLEGATION ever made against an

āLandry has treated the city less like a partner in governance and more like a problem to be solvedā¦ā How can @LAGovJeffLandry partner w/ local govt who belligerently keeps NOLA this broken? No acknowledgment in the piece of how terribly NOLA is run. Keep going #lagov & #lalege.
It seems as though Jeff Landry is stripping New Orleans of control. From criminal justice to climate policy to civil rights, the state is tightening its grip.
