While the Dept. of Public Works' crews clean catch basins daily, today, maintenance crews are out cleaning catch basins across the city ahead of severe weather.
On average, crews tackle approximately 400 catch basins, 200 drain manholes, and flush around 8,000 pipes per month.

Last Saturday, volunteers from Keep Algiers Beautiful, Digital Engineering & the Office of Resilience & Sustainability picked up trash and debris from the Mississippi River levee at Algiers Point as part of Love the Boot. They collected 20, 30lb trash bags full!
