It makes me sad that some of the smartest people on the planet engineer software to sell ads. What's the opportunity cost? If I need something, I search Google or Amazon. More often I hear about products that interest me from podcasts that interest me. 🤷‍♂️

Randomly remembered this article that, instead of calculating confidence intervals for their error bars, just used the letter "T" on the end of each bar 🤣

Some crazy people on Reddit managed to extract the "SynthID" watermark that Nano Banana applies to every image. It's possible to make the watermark visible by oversaturating the generated images. This is the Google SynthID watermark:

Photo of a single atom. This is a strontium atom, which has 38 protons; the diameter of a strontium atom is a few millionths of a millimeter. Taken by David Nadlinger and titled “Single Atom In An Ion Trap,” the photo is the winner of the Engineering and Physical Sciences

Claude 4.5 Sonnet just refactored my entire codebase in one call. 25 tool invocations. 3,000+ new lines. 12 brand new files. It modularized everything. Broke up monoliths. Cleaned up spaghetti. None of it worked. But boy was it beautiful.
