Would love help amplifying this call: @nberpubs with support from the @NIHAging, is launching a mentoring program for PhD students who are curious about topics of health & aging or students who are already interested and want to dive deeper and develop their ideas.

After a vaccine shortage, vaccination declines were mostly offset by long-run catch-up, but full costs include other delayed care, extra doctor visits, and disrupted continuity of care, from Eli B. Liebman, @EmilyCLawler, Abe Dunn, and @dave_ridley https://t.co/mcc9hYBvUg

1/ An 18-month Hib vaccine shortage is a fascinating case study of a medical supply deficit. Eli Liebman, @EmilyCLawler, Abe Dunn, and I wrote about it in an @nberpubs paper. https://t.co/yn34IDvgRn

Was the $1.9T spent for the Clean Water Act to reduce #pollution worth it? Most cost-benefits analyses say no, but Patrick Flynn & @mimimmarcus find areas with #CWA-funded treatments saw birth weight increase by 8 grams, a significant #health improvement. https://t.co/d9UaYjtZzu

Providers largely complied w/ recs to delay boosters during Hib vax shortage. Imperfect catch-up meant shortage-exposed kids were less likely to receive a booster after the shortage ended @EmilyCLawler #ASHEcon2022 #ASHEcon22

I give graduate students very different advice with respect to their daily workflow. This is your life. You don't get to live it again. Find a workload that you can 1) be productive enough to hold down employment, and 2) live a life that you find satisfying 2/7

My writing group is one of my biggest sources of writing productivity. And I recently became aware that not everyone is in one. 1. Why not? 2. If you don’t know how to get in one below are some easy steps to start one. 1/

Meghan and Emily don't just run any ole-OLS, though. They have clever identification strategies to isolate the causal effect of the BW removal (geographic variation in smoking for detailing & variation in other Rx for DTCA). We at #SHESG2021 believe them - boxed warnings matter.
