Unpopular for whatever reason but use your brains before attacking me man I love Stevie but he’s not doing the Hendo dog work to make the team function.
Here’s a clip of what Gerrard playing RM in Rafa's 4-4-2 looked like in 05/06. He was essentially playing AM when in possession, inverting & occupying the same positions Szobo does today, & off the ball defending in compact banks of 4 where he was tasked with covering the flank.
GOAT Dynamic Midfielder. Nobody touches him in this profile of midfielder. He could do a bit of everything your favorite midfielder could do. Absolute Powerhouse! Insane Comp.
Gerrard was so good at these first time throughballs against the direction of defenders weight & balance that completely catches them flat footed. Freezes John Terry here with the pass.
@FinishedPlayers
Gerrard was literally named MOTM in this game. Had an amazing performance outside of getting done 1 time by the GOAT dribbler 😂 No shame in that.
@rajsinghchohan
Gerrard-Scholes midfield actually worked by itself, just see the WC2002 Qualifiers. Gerrard getting injured for WC'02 ended Englands chances of winning that. Introducing Lampard for Euro '04 completely ruined the dynamic (SG now full time DM for them and Scholes playing left mid

@TaintlessRed
Terry had a snails pace. Would beaten by any ball behind or any pacy dribbler. Case in point. Needs Gerrard to cover for him because any defending not in his own box is foreign to him.
@borgixprxdeli
The Crespo finish in Istanbul comes to mind, most strikers today would never dare to stab an outside the boot chip like that in such an occasion as a CL final. Most would just get around the ball and try to side foot finish that safely.

@barstoolsports
the people that make the streams are located in Eastern Europe or the middle east or something like that. Dana and his bill have no jurisdiction to get these guys.
Gerrard got done by the GOAT dribbler Ronaldinho, Yaya Toure was getting joga bonito'd onto his arse by Morgan Schneiderlin. You can't make this stuff up.
@bobbinho52
06/07 Rafa Benitez season is the most defensive Liverpool side since 1979 when Paisley's team only conceded 16 goals. The team was the definition of rigid compact two defensive banks of four, 4-4-facking-two. Comparing that side to a Pep Guardiola 100+ goal season is wild 😂
@nikolaesthetic
This is literally most of Jokic detractors that didn't want him winning MVP this year when they didn't even actually watch him play. It's impossible not to realize you're watching the best player in the league when you actually watch Jokic play.
@classic_comps
Deep-lying playmaker Gerrard was mint. That 2nd half of 12/13 Liverpool was underrated, already showing signs of 13/14 title challenger level after signing Coutinho and Sturridge.
