I started a podcast with a bud from my PhD cohort! Each episode one of us tries to convince the other that something is *technically economics* First episode is on #LoveIslandUSA and out now on all of the platforms! https://t.co/aPAvyglXas

Economic valuations fluctuate in ways empirical research cannot fully explain What information are we missing? Economic theories emphasize the role of hard-to-quantify beliefs and perceptions My job market paper develops algorithms + measurement to quantify perceptions of firms

i'm on the job market with a paper about political sorting in the labor market! it's perhaps harder to choose your coworkers than your friends or who you follow on twitter -- could the workplace be less segregated than other places where democrats and republicans tend not to mix?

Countless members of the University of Michigan family have reached out to me over the weekend and I wanted to express my appreciation. Like any community, we face our share of challenges and adversity. There have been many such moments in our history. But as our team showed so

Itโ€™s interesting. In books like Idea Factory as they talk about Bell Labs and mid-1900s engineering innovation, Midwesterners are everywhere The authors of all these books note it constantly. It was a talent powerhouse. But they donโ€™t really talk about this at all in the Midwest

Super cool new paper by my (brilliant) friend @jdikatz. People reacted much differently to liquidity from the CARES Act student loan pause vs direct stimulus. This changes how we should think about, for example, the effects of the pause on inflation https://t.co/RpKr1I8YZA

Which patents get accepted? How do the standards for innovation evolve over time? What kinds of technologies turn over more quickly? In joint work with Mirac Suzgun @lukemelas @skominers and @pmphlt, we introduce a dataset that may help address questions like these [1/n]
