Happy to share that my job market journey is over! Later this year, I’ll be joining University College Dublin @EconomicsUCD as an Assistant Professor of Economics. Feeling unreal, being part of such a fantastic group - an outcome of hard work, luck, and the support of many. (1/3)

🤔 Why? Two main potential (to be explored) channels:.1️⃣⬇️Separation costs: Staying connected with family, friends & familiar content is valuable. 2️⃣ Positive social comparisons: Immigrants ⬆️comparisons to home-country peers (often poorer) as opposed to destination peers. (5/6).

🔎 Main finding:. Better home-country Internet ⬆️ immigrants' happiness & health—by as much as moving from 5th to 8th income decile! 📈. Check the figures with TWFE and event-study (event is a 3G emergence in the home country) results. (3/6)
