📣It's here! Just published in Nature Medicine: Among of over 6,000 patients of telehealth abortion was as safe and effective as found in previous studies of in-person medication abortion care. Full paper linked below and a longer tweet thread to follow soon. 👇🏽

In a prospective study across US states where abortion remains legal, telehealth medical abortion, provided primarily without tests, was effective, safe and comparable to previous large US studies investigating in-person medication abortion care.

I always love reading about the new MacArthur fellows. For me, it's especially significant that @Dianagfoster-- whose groundbreaking work in set the stage for understanding the causal impacts of abortion denial is one of the honorees.

"Are you saying we should let anyone get an abortion ‘Up Until Birth for No Reason?’" Let's answer this one better, shall we?

After Dobbs, countless people have been forced to give birth to babies they didn't want or weren't ready for. Lationna Halbert is one of them. Here's my months-long project following the financial fallout after someone can't get the abortion they seek:

People who have abortions often go on to have successful, wanted pregnancies later in life. But our research finds that people who are denied abortion care are less likely to grow their families later. We all deserve to grow our families on our own terms.

"The outcomes we found for women who were denied an abortion closely reflect the reasons women gave for not wanting to carry a pregnancy to term in the first place." Read @Dianagfoster's powerful op-ed in @Salon on the #TurnawayStudy.

Remember when @POTUS fiiiiiiiiiinally said the word “abortion” and issued those executive orders in response to the Dobbs decision? Well, one of those orders instructed @HHSGov to issue a report. Because I’m a nerd for reports on abortion, I wondered, “where is that report?” 🙋🏻‍♂️

Rita Liu made this stunning comic for The @guardian, explaining how the Turnaway Study and other research demonstrate that forcing people to carry their pregnancies to term causes profound harm and entrenches generational poverty.

Women denied abortion are 4x more likely to live in poverty. They're more likely to be in poor health, more likely to be unemployed, and more likely to have bad credit. With my whiteboard, I showed how government-mandated pregnancies can damage Americans' futures ⬇

CLAIM: "GOP had 40 year plan to get rid of Roe; Dems had nothing" FALSE!!!!! #40yearplan #Roe #democrats Here's how things ACTUALLY happened Excuse all typos....I'm rushing. I hate seeing a field in which I have expertise butchered on social media. It's repulsive.
