Our new paper by Császár, Lénárt et al., is out in @JExpMed showing that #microglia modulate cerebral blood flow, neurovascular coupling and adaptation to hypoperfusion via dynamic, purinergic actions in the #NVU. https://t.co/aP1lALVxrq

New paper out in @PLOSBiology elaborating on the importance of the NKCC1 transporter in microglial physiology and inflammatory responses. Central vs systemic blockade of NKCC1 with bumetanide have opposite effects. Great team effort led by @KrisztinaTth6 https://t.co/ZfEjH8rkRv
journals.plos.org
This study shows that inflammatory responses of microglial cells are markedly influenced by the ion transporter, NKCC1; blockade or genetic deletion of microglial NKCC1 has broad cell-autonomous...

Today is #WorldStrokeDay ! Stroke is the second leading cause of death. 1 of 4 of us will have a stroke! Besides better prevention, we must increase our efforts for a better mechanistic understanding of this disease and develop novel therapies @ISD_Research
